The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions Iain Duncan Smith paid a visit to ABF The Soldiers’ Charity headquarters in Victoria, London, where he was briefed on the vital work undertaken by The Charity. As a former Captain in the Scots Guards, Mr Duncan Smith was interested to hear about some of the issues facing soldiers, veterans and families today and the Charity’s long-term help.

Major General (Ret’d) Martin Rutledge, Chief Executive ABF The Soldiers’ Charity said of the visit: “We were delighted that the Secretary of State took the time to visit our headquarters, to learn about our broad support to the entire Army family, and how we work closely with partner charities in the building. Mr Duncan Smith’s time in the Army will give him a clearer insight in to the problems that some men and women who have served – and their families – may face”
