Comedy duo Cannon and Ball will be abseiling the Big One for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity on 6th June

Every year, daring individuals take on the 235-foot descent from the Big One Rollercoaster, raising thousands of pounds for soldiers, veterans and their families in the process. Cannon and Ball will topping the bill for this year’s abseil, and will be joined by many other dare-devils, including Rick Clement, who lost both legs whilst serving with the Duke of Lancashire Regiment in Afghanistan.

Bobby Ball comments: “We’re both really excited to be taking on The Big One!  We were privileged to be part of the opening ceremony for it in 1994, yet we never thought that one day we would be abseiling off it.  It’s 235 foot all the way down but if it does something to help all those soldiers and veterans who have done so much for us then we’ll brave it!”

Martin Rutledge, Chief Executive of The Soldiers’ Charity says: “Cannon and Ball will have been top of the bill for many places throughout their career, but I’m sure none will have been higher than this. The Charity is very grateful to them both, along with all the other participants, for taking on the challenge. The money raised will be going towards the many thousands of soldiers, veterans and their families that the Charity helps each year.
