Lance Bombardier Ben Parkinson stands tall
17 May 2010
A very determined Lance Bombardier Ben Parkinson has stood for the first time in four years after losing both legs in Afghanistan. He was so badly injured that doctors said he would never walk again.
ABF The Soldiers’ Charity were able to help by providing Ben with a home gym at which he trains for at least three hours a day.
The News of the World joined Ben, his Mum and Stepdad as he recieved his prosthetics and stood six feet tall. A Para to the core he quibbed “The world looks better from up here.”
As Andy, Ben’s Stepdad, said “Ben is proving that, no matter how hard the injuries are, recovery is possible.”
