Ace Cafe collects for The Soldiers’ Charity
14 June 2010
The legendary meeting place for motorcyclists, North London’s Ace Cafe, raised vital funds for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity at a special event for Triumph riders.
The cafe has been a meeting point for motorbike enthusiasts since the 1950s and it was to a special Triumph bike day that a serving soldier came along to collect for TSC.
Managing director Mark Wilsmore chose the charity to link in with the motorcycle meet planned for the day.
He said: “Throughout the year we try to assist lots of charities at the cafe – on this occasion, hosting such a quintessentially British marque as Triumph, I felt sure that those attending would welcome the opportunity to support The Soldiers’ Charity”.
The event, held on Sunday 13 June, saw more than 1,000 attend, mostly owners and riders of Triumph bikes old or new.
“We have visitors from every generation and from across the social spectrum, it’s a very special place. People were glad to donate to such a vital charity,” added Mark.
