It’s Father’s Day on Sunday June 20 and the Sunday Mirror is planning a morale-boasting surprise for the brave dads serving in Afghanistan, which ABF The Soldiers’ Charity are delighted to support.

The Sunday Mirror are joining forces with the loved ones of our troops to let them know that, despite the thousands of miles between us, the nation are thinking of them all.

On Father’s Day, the Sunday Mirror will be devoting special pages to give children of troops the chance to send personal messages and pictures to their dads. All submissions will also be posted on Mirror.co.uk

So if your dad is serving in Afghanistan and you want to send him a wonderful Father’s Day greeting, then it couldn’t be easier to tell him how proud you are.

Visit the Mirror website for details of how to take part and to upload your message and picture.

An MoD spokesperson said: “It’s always difficult to be separated from your loved ones so the support shown to our troops in this campaign really is appreciated.”

He explained that troops will be able to see the messages on the internet through free email and internet access at forward locations.

And the British Forces Postal Office have installed 13 new Eblueys, computer terminals where troops can also send messages back home as well which are written in the form of an email but are delivered like a letter through the post.

But do hurry – as messages have to be with the Sunday Mirror by noon Wednesday June 16
