The Lord Mayor’s Diamond Jubilee Big Curry Lunch
4 November 2011
ABF The Soldiers Charity and the Lord Mayor are delighted to announce that for 2012 only, the annual lunch will be re-named
“The Lord Mayor’s Diamond Jubilee Big Curry Lunch”.
We have received permission to do this from Buckingham Palace as tribute to Her Majesty The Queen’s Sixty Years on The Throne and her remarkable service to this Country and the Commonwealth. The Diamond Jubilee Lunch will be on Thursday 26th April 2012 in, as usual, the magnificent setting of Guildhall.
With delicious curry, great wine and beer, this annual event is now an established part of the City calendar, hotly anticipated by all those that attend. The buffet format and informal seating encourages guests to mingle with other city professionals, members of both Houses of Parliament, the Senior Officers of the British Army, Ambassadors and High Commissioners and the Masters of the City’s Livery Companies.
Tickets – still only £95 and including lunch, wine, beer and water, are now on sale for the Lunch so book early to avoid disappointment.
“Supporting the good works of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity and other services is essential, “ said David Hitchcock Managing Director of J.P. Morgan and a former Officer in the Gurkhas. “in addition to providing immediate aid to our returning soldiers, history shows that there will be many Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans and their families who will need support years from now, as they encounter physical and mental difficulties related to these conflicts. Despite these uncertain and challenging economic times, it is my great hope that the City community will come together and continue to help such deserving people”
