Our 2018 charity concert commemorates the ‘Battle of Bois des Buttes’ on 27th May 1918, involving our local Regiment, the 2nd Devons who were completely wiped out in the battle.

In recognition of their courage and sacrifice, they were awarded the ‘Croix de Guerre’ by France.

In 1958 the Regiment were amalgamated with the Dorset Regiment to form the Devonshire & Dorset Regiment, which in 2007 was amalgamated again with the Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment, and the Royal Green Jackets and the Light Infantry, to form a new Regiment, ‘The Rifles’.

In honour of this, please join us for an evening of outstanding musical contribution as we ‘Salute our Soldiers’.

Programme featuring The Exeter Symphony Orchestra, Exeter Philharmonic Choir and other world class musicians. We are also delighted to announce that Lord Julian Fellowes, creator of Downton Abbey, will be attending as a guest speaker!
